About The 5A Standard Domestic Fuse
The Durite domestic and household fuse with 6.5mm diameter nickel-plated brass caps are historically used for surge protection on home equipment, usually found in the UK moulded 3-pin plugs and manufactured to BS1362 standards.
The ratings for 5A continuous use is based on a circuit constant load being always-on, the 10A blow rating is based on the circuit load being intermittent.
