Albright SW132AE-38 240 Volts A.C. Normally Closed (N.C.) double-pole switch solenoid with an auxiliary microswitch.

  • The SW132E has been designed for Direct Current loads. Typical applications include motors used on small electric vehicles such as light industrial trucks and powered cars. These contactors are not polarity sensitive; thus, they can be used for switching Alternating Current loads.
  • The SW132E units are designed for mains failure changeover duty. These contactors are fitted with economy resistors (2 x 5000 OHM resistors in parallel) and are intended for continuous energisation with minimum coil power consumption.

About Continuous (C.O.) SW132 Solenoids

Continuous contactors, by design, are predominantly used for drive functions on vehicles; they make and break slower than intermittent solenoids and are recommended for prolonged contact periods.

The Albright SW132AE-38 is a 240 Volts A.C. Normally Closed (N.C.) double-pole single-throw (DPST) Solenoid Contactor. It features a compact design with an auxiliary microswitch and is designed for Direct Current loads. This contactor is suitable for switching Alternating Current loads thanks to its polarity-insensitive design. It is also intended for continuous energisation, with 2 x 5000 OHM resistors in parallel. With a rating of 125A, the Albright SW132E style contactor is ideal for motors in small electric vehicles, light industrial trucks, and powered cars.

The SW132E features double-pole, double-breaking main contacts with Silver-alloy tips, which are weld resistant, hardwearing and have excellent conductivity. The SW132 has M8 stud main terminals and 6.3mm spade coil connections. Mounting is via M5 tapped holes or mounting brackets, available to purchase as a separate item. Mounting can be horizontal or vertical. When vertical, the M8 contact studs should point upwards.

Interrupted Current: The opening and closing on load with frequent switching (resulting in increased contact resistance).
Uninterrupted Current: No or infrequent load switching requirements (maintains a lower contact resistance).
