About The 8A 20mm Glass Radio Fuse
The Durite classic style glass fuse with 5.0mm diameter nickel-plated brass caps are historically used for surge protection, usually found mounted on vehicle PCB's and when used inline on automotive cables and vehicle wiring.
The ratings for 8A continuous use is based on a circuit constant load being always-on, the 16A blow rating is based on the circuit load being intermittent.

Continuous ratings for fuses are based on the fact they should blow at the amperage when the circuit is always-on or plugged in. The blow ratings for fuses are based on the fact that the circuit is intermittent and therefore the fuse is required to heat up before blowing.
